How to open SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010 Document Library as a Network Place

  1. Login to your SharePoint site.
  2. Go to your respective Document Library.
  3. Now copy the URL (Leave Forms/AllItems.aspx and copy the remaining part).
  4. Now go to My Network Places in your computer/Laptop.
  5. Now click on Add Network Place.
  6. Now click next.
  7. In the Second step select Choose another Network Location and click on Next.
  8. Now type your Document Library Address and click next.
  9. Now it will prompt for credentials.
  10. Type your username and password.
  11. In the Next Step give your own name for your network place.
  12. In next step click on checkbox open this network place when I finish.
  13. Now click on finish.
  14. Now your document library will be seen like a network place folder.
