What is Crawling in SharePoint?

Crawling is nothing but a set of rules you set for Search. Crawler will index your SharePoint Server as how Google Index is indexing the content on the internet. It is of two types
1.      Full Crawl
2.      Incremental Crawl
Full Crawl:-
The crawl will be happening all the day. If you reset the server then it will start from the starting position. If we are using this then the performance issue will be raised.

Incremental Crawl:-
The crawl will be happening within a period of time you schedule it. If you reset the server it will start from the next position where it has stopped.

Note:-
Once in a lifetime you have to run the Full Crawl within a server If you are facing any problems.
Ex:-
If the content is not indexing properly then you have to down the server and run the full crawl so that it will index through all the data available within the SharePoint sites of the server.
